DROP-INS
Who can drop in with VVSSC?
VSSC accepts drop-in skaters to practices only if:
- You are already be registered with a Canadian speed skating club that provides insurance. (All SSBC clubs qualify.)
- You bring your own speed skates and required safety gear.
- Space is available in the practice.
Unfortunately, we cannot take drop-ins who have no experience speed skating. These skaters should explore our Try Speed Skating options instead.
If skaters are not a good fit with the training group, VVSSC will not allow the drop in to continue and will return tickets accordingly.
When can skaters drop in?
- Regular practice times, plus holidays and Pro-D days where we have extra ice
- Schedules for extra ice days are at the bottom of our Practice Schedule page.
- See our Printable Calendar for confirmed and unconfirmed extra ice days.
How to register
All drop-in skaters must buy tickets through EventBrite to attend their desired session. Ticket sales close one minute in before the end of each practice time. If you do not have an EventBrite ticket, you cannot drop in to the practice.
Waitlist
- Each date has limited drop‑in tickets.
- When tickets sell out, no more spots are available.
- Sales close 1 minute before the event ends.
- If a date is full, join the waitlist. If a spot opens, you’ll get an email and have 2 hours to claim it.
Arriving at the rink
Show your drop‑in ticket to a coach or board member when you arrive. They’ll sign you in and explain any protocols.
